Softball Recap: McKinley Red Dragons vs. East
After flying high against East last Tuesday, McKinley came back down to earth. The McKinley Red Dragons wound up on the wrong side of a rough 18-6 walloping at the hands of East on Wednesday. McKinley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played.
Mackenzie Terry was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Kiyah Schafenburg was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
McKinley's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for East, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
McKinley will be playing at home against Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harding is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season. As for East, they will head out on the road to square off against Ursuline at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
