Volleyball Game Preview: Phelps Hornets vs. Lincoln County Panthers

The Phelps Hornets will square off against the Lincoln County Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Phelps lost 3-0 to East Ridge on Thursday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County didn't have quite enough to beat Wayne on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost five in a row.

Lincoln County took Wayne into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17, 21-25, 23-25, 15-12.

Phelps will have to contain Skylar Adkins as she made an impact in Lincoln County's last game. She had ten digs.

Phelps' defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Lincoln County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-20-1.

Phelps beat Lincoln County 2-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2015. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
