Champions Christian Academy took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Candlelight Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Flames 3-2.

Champions Christian Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Champions Christian Academy's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 3-5. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Champions Christian Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Hillsborough Baptist at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Candlelight Christian Academy will square off against rival Florida College Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
