Basketball Game Preview: Templeton Eagles vs. Arroyo Grande Eagles

Templeton is 0-4 against Arroyo Grande since December of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Templeton Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Arroyo Grande Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Templeton turned things around against Morro Bay on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-50 win over the Pirates. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Pirates are ranked 1113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arroyo Grande got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They secured a 65-61 W over Atascadero on Friday.

Arroyo Grande's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-12. As for Templeton, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

Templeton came up short against Arroyo Grande in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 63-50. Can Templeton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
