Basketball Recap: Flanagan Comes Up Short

Flanagan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt an 86-38 defeat at the hands of the Miramar Patriots. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Despite the loss, Flanagan still got an impressive performance from Jason Carias, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Sainval, who earned seven points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miramar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Siah Blot, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Blot has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Skinner, who went 10 for 13 en route to 23 points and three steals.

Flanagan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Miramar, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Flanagan has already played their next game, a 60-53 loss against Plantation on the 24th. As for Miramar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-52 defeat against Stranahan on the 24th.
