Recap: Puckett Wolves vs. Collins Tigers
The Puckett Wolves and the Collins Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Puckett Wolves had to settle for second. Puckett's tough 50-30 defeat to Collins might stick with them for a while. It was the first time this season that Puckett let down their fans at home.
Jaxon Elmore threw for 161 yards on ten of 35 attempts. Blake Taylor was his top target, picking up 62 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Javarius Fletcher rushed for 90 yards.
Collins' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tykedric Barnes, who rushed for 38 yards and three touchdowns. Austin Burkett was another key contributor, rushing for 135 yards on only ten carries.
Puckett's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Collins, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Puckett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Collins is on the road again on Friday and play against Loyd Star at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Loyd Star is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
