Football Recap: Siuslaw Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Siuslaw can now relate to. They lost 48-28 to the Gervais Cougars on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Vikings let down their fans at home.

Siuslaw's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Blankenship, who picked up 132 receiving yards and one touchdown. Bryce Franzoni also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Siuslaw didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaxon Chiang and Blankenship.

Johnny Mariano produced another solid effort rushing for 251 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry for Gervais. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Mariano a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Toran, who rushed for 31 yards and a pair of scores.

Siuslaw's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Gervais, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

As of now, neither Siuslaw nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
