Baseball Recap: Coalfield's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Coalfield won the last time they faced Oliver Springs and things went their way on Monday too. The Yellow Jackets came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 5-1. The win was familiar territory for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won four contests in a row.

Waylon Burgess spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Jackson Treece was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Levi Heidel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coalfield's record now sits at 12-3. As for Oliver Springs, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6-1.

Coalfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
