Football Game Preview: Northview Wildcats vs. East Grand Rapids Pioneers

The Northview Wildcats will face off against the East Grand Rapids Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northview will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Northview gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They walked away with a 35-28 win over Holland Christian. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Wildcats were down 14-0 in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 38 points the game before, East Grand Rapids was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They fell just short of Catholic Central by a score of 10-7.

East Grand Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Northview, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Northview didn't have too much breathing room in their game against East Grand Rapids in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 31-27 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Pioneers' Tyler Blake, who rushed for 92 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Wildcats still be able to contain Blake? There's only one way to find out.
