Volleyball Recap: Bunker Takes a Loss

Bunker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Salem Tigers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Bunker took Salem into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-12, 23-25, 15-11.

Kara Barton paced Bunker's offense, picking up 20 kills. Barton got some help from Loren Ritter and her 37 assists. Hailey Turnbough controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Bunker's loss dropped their record down to 9-16-2. As for Salem, their victory ended a six-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-16-1.

Bunker has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against South Iron on the 9th. As for Salem, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Cabool on the 7th.
