Basketball Recap: Denver South Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Denver South fought the good fight in their overtime game against Eaglecrest on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raptors by a score of 70-68. If the Ravens were looking for revenge after losing 68-57 to the Raptors when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Eaglecrest was led to victory by Demari Manns Davis and Reece Brown. Manns Davis went 8-for-14 on his way to 21 points and five boards, while Brown shot 64% from the field en route to 28 points. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in rebounds (three). Another player making a difference was Clayton Kalimba, who posted ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Denver South and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Eaglecrest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Denver South will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026. As for Eaglecrest, they will face off against Monarch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
