Recap: Swink Lions vs. Rocky Ford Meloneers
The Swink Lions kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Rocky Ford by a score of 21-19. Swink lost against Rocky Ford in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 36-28 score last time.
Swink's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Briana McElroy, who scored 7 points, and Taylor Mendenhall who scored 5 points.
Rocky Ford can attribute much of their success to Faith Wirth, who scored 9 points along with 11 rebounds.
Swink's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Rocky Ford, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Swink will be playing at home against Rocky Ford at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rocky Ford, they will head out on the road to face off against Swink at 4:30 p.m.
