Baseball Recap: Grand Valley Comes Up Short

Grand Valley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.82 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 15-9 to the Newton Falls Tigers. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2018.

This is the second loss in a row for Grand Valley and nudges their season record down to 15-7. As for Newton Falls, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Valley will take on Oberlin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.95 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Newton Falls, they will be taking part in a tournament against Dalton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
