Football Recap: Turner Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Turner lost against Piper back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Golden Bears were beaten by the Pirates 43-7. The Golden Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Roman Byers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Piper, rushing for 149 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 71 yards and one TD. Byers has become a key player for the Pirates: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alamar Brooks, who rushed for 80 yards and one score.

Turner's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Piper, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Turner will take on Shawnee Heights at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Piper, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against West at 7:00 p.m. The Pirates will be up against the Chargers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
