Basketball Game Preview: Oak Mountain Eagles vs. Hewitt-Trussville Huskies

The Oak Mountain Eagles will take on the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Oak Mountain's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.

Oak Mountain is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Moody 84-57. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Oak Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Will Patterson led the charge by putting up 20 points. That's the most points Patterson has posted since back in November of 2024. Chase Lamey was another key player, posting 22 points.

Meanwhile, Hewitt-Trussville faced Hoover in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Hewitt-Trussville was dealt a 73-37 defeat at the hands of Hoover. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Hewitt-Trussville's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Oak Mountain, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Oak Mountain didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hewitt-Trussville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 49-44 victory.
