Basketball Recap: Brookfield Central Comes Up Short

Brookfield Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-36 defeat at the hands of the DeRuyter Rockets. The Beavers were not able to make up for their loss to the Rockets from their previous meeting back in February of 2023.

Several Beavers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan DiBrango, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thatcher Bugbee, who put up seven points.

Brookfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for DeRuyter, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield Central will take on Cherry Valley-Springfield in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. DeRuyter and Cincinnatus Central will compete for holiday cheer at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
