It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Guyer can now relate to. They took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southlake Carroll Dragons on Saturday. Despite 279 more yards than the Dragons, the Wildcats couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Guyer lost, don't look at Kevin Sperry. Despite the final result, he rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 313 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. Sperry's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Mason White did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 87 receiving yards.

Even though they lost, Guyer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 262 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Angelo Renda was his usual excellent self, rushing for 161 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 105 yards and a touchdown for Southlake Carroll. Those 161 rushing yards gave Renda a new career-high. Christian Glenn was in the mix too, providing Southlake Carroll with three touchdowns.

With the defeat, Guyer broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4. As for Southlake Carroll, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
