Basketball Game Preview: Geneseo Blue Devils vs. Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers

The Geneseo Blue Devils will square off against the Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Canisteo-Greenwood is hoping to do what Livonia couldn't on Wednesday: put an end to Geneseo's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Geneseo strolled past Livonia with points to spare, taking the game 66-49.

Jackson Willis went supernova for Geneseo, going 17 of 33 on his way to 39 points and eight steals. Those 39 points gave Willis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Davis, who posted six points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Canisteo-Greenwood gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past Addison, posting a 69-26 victory.

Geneseo's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Canisteo-Greenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Geneseo came up short against Canisteo-Greenwood when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 65-61. Can Geneseo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
