Basketball Recap: Cigarroa Comes Up Short

Cigarroa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Nixon Mustangs, falling 97-55. While losing is never fun, the Toros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1123rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 280th).

Cigarroa's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Nixon, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-9.

Cigarroa is taking a road trip to square off against Mission at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Nixon, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Juarez-Lincoln at 3:00 p.m.
