Soccer Game Preview: North Johnston vs. Roanoke Rapids

The North Johnston Panthers will face off against the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Johnston is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Midway. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.

North Johnston hit Midway with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Yarexi Velasquez, Sydney Daughtry, and Ashley De Leon.

Meanwhile, everything went Roanoke Rapids' way against South Granville on Friday as Roanoke Rapids made off with an 11-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.

North Johnston might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Roanoke Rapids in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Johnston was down 4-0.
