Softball Recap: Edgewood Starts Season with Win on the Road

Edgewood had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Centerville Elks by a score of 12-9. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 win the Elks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2021.

Rylee Kallick was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Jaylee Rose was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Edgewood will face off against St. Ursula Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Centerville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Greenville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
