Baseball Recap: Evergreen Valley Comes Up Short

Evergreen Valley managed to slip by Prospect the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars lost 12-4 to the Panthers on Tuesday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Evergreen Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vince Garcia, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Evergreen Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Prospect, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.

While Evergreen Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
