Football Game Preview: West Genesee Wildcats vs. Liverpool Warriors

The West Genesee Wildcats will head out to face off against the Liverpool Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Genesee will be strutting in after a win while Liverpool will be coming in after a loss.

West Genesee will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 12 points on October 3rd, then bounced right back against Rome Free Academy on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the Black Knights, posting a 49-14 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Wildcats just coasted through the last quarter.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 45 points the game before, Liverpool was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a blow against Christian Brothers Academy, falling 42-10. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

West Genesee's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Liverpool, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

West Genesee couldn't quite finish off Liverpool when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 35-32. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
