Football Game Preview: Cache Bulldogs vs. Elgin Owls + Official Tickets

The Cache Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Elgin Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Cache had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 41-point drubbing they dealt Douglass on Friday. The Bulldogs blew past the Trojans 49-8. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Meanwhile, Elgin hadn't done well against Clinton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Owls' defense stepped up to hand the Red Tornadoes a 49-0 shutout. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Cache pushed their record up to 4-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.7 points on average over those games. As for Elgin, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Cache took a serious blow against Elgin when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 48-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
