Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Otsego's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Otsego took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Liberty-Benton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Eagles on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since September 8th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (108-99) Otsego actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-22, 12-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-13.

Otsego found their leader in sophomore Sophia Borer, who had 16 digs.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty-Benton lost, don't look at Maddy Amstutz. Despite the final result, she had 25 digs and two aces. Amstutz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Otsego has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Liberty-Benton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season.

Otsego will venture away from home to face off against Willard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty-Benton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
