Baseball Recap: Rahway's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

While Rahway's victory against Hillside wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians skirted past the Comets 9-8. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Comets on Thursday, too.

The team relied heavily on Alex Pineda, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tito Capales, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Rahway's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Hillside, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Rahway will square off against South Amboy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Governors have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Hillside, they will take on Newark Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
