Football Recap: Keith James Key Part of Team Effort in Red Rams Win + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Franklinton walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Gray's Creek Bears with a sharp 28-6 win on Friday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Red Rams just coasted through the last quarter.

Franklinton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keith James, who threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes. James' passing game has become a key predictor of the Red Rams' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. A healthy portion of James' aerial production (89 yards to be exact) went to Jamaal Epps, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Franklinton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games. As for Gray's Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Coming up, Franklinton will head out on the road to square off against Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Red Rams 14.5, the Bulldogs 11.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Gray's Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
