Football Preview: Evans Trojans vs. Pace Patriots
Two dominant backs in Li'Darious Pryor and Makael Williams are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Evans Trojans and the Pace Patriots will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Evans' defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Oak Ridge 73-0. The Trojans have beaten the Pioneers the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pioneers has come to flipping the script.

Azariel Woods had an outrageously good game as he threw for 143 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Omyry Hickson, who rushed for 50 yards and one score.
Evans didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off seven passes before the game was over. Demetre Pryor led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. Artavius Riley Jr. is also on a roll when it comes to forced fumbles, as he's now earned at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Christopher Sanon was another major factor on D, picking up 2.5 sacks and making three total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Pace's strategy against Milton two weeks ago. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Patriots blew the Panthers out of the water with a 49-7 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Patriots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Panthers are ranked 117th).
Evans better keep an eye on Brooks Washington. He was instrumental in Pace's win, picking up 25 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 44 yards.
Evans' record now sits at 8-2. As for Pace, their record is now 9-1.
