Basketball Recap: Albany Comes Up Short

Albany was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Worth County Tigers. The Warriors lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 57-25 score last time.

Worth County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hayden Sanders led the charge by going 5 of 7 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Ruby, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Albany now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Worth County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Albany will welcome Stanberry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Worth County, they will venture away from home to square off against Mount Ayr at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
