Softball Recap: East Chambers Takes a Loss

East Chambers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hardin Hornets. The Buccaneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

East Chambers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rilynne Ortego, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Emily Vratis also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

East Chambers' loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Hardin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-15.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. East Chambers is set to square off against their familiar foe Anahuac at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hardin will take on rival Kountze at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
