Basketball Recap: Fuquay - Varina Bengals vs. Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs
The Fuquay - Varina Bengals lost against the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Fuquay - Varina took a 46-29 bruising from the Bulldogs. Fuquay - Varina has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Fuquay - Varina's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abigail Meaney, who scored four points along with six rebounds and six steals, and Cate Dilley who scored six points. Meaney hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Fuquay - Varina has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Southeast Raleigh, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fuquay - Varina will play host again and welcome the Trojans, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Garner is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Southeast Raleigh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clayton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 104th).
