Basketball Recap: Rockledge's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

If Rockledge was riding high fresh off their 59-23 takedown of Space Coast last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockledge Raiders took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Moore Hornets on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Raiders came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Hornets are ranked 459th).

Bishop Moore got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Rivera out in front who posted 12 points. Adam Gonzalez was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Rockledge moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Bishop Moore, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14.

Rockledge will face off against Merritt Island at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bishop Moore, they and Montverde Academy Gold will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
