Basketball Recap: Music Mountain Warriors vs. Grand Canyon Phantoms
Music Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grand Canyon Phantoms. The Warriors were probably out for revenge after losing 46-29 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Elizabeth Walema was Music Mountain's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Aliyania Matuck took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Jaemie Jensen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Grand Canyon, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 17 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Jensen has scored at least a third of Grand Canyon's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Walls, who posted four points along with three steals and three blocks.
Music Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Grand Canyon, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3.

Grand Canyon will take on El Capitan in a holiday battle at at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
