It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Omaha Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Burke Bulldogs 4-3. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered an 11-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Ferguson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Ripp, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Omaha Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Omaha Central now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Burke, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
