Catholic Central took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Greenon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Irish skirted past the Knights 3-2. This was payback for the Irish, who suffered a 10-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Berkeley Little was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Little was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brody Adams was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Catholic Central has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run this season. As for Greenon, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Catholic Central will be playing at home against West Jefferson at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Greenon will be paying especially close attention to the Irish's game: after the Irish faces off against the Roughriders, they'll take on Greenon again at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
