Basketball Recap: Legacy Academy Falls to Hozho Academy in First Game of Season

Legacy Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 44-30 fall against the Hozho Academy Wolves on Friday. The Silverbacks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Legacy Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryant Scales, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Scales has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Lavery, who posted eight points.

Legacy Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-47 win against Coronado on the 29th. As for Hozho Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 72-52 loss against Menaul on the 29th.
