Softball Game Preview: Oak Hill Golden Eagles vs. Alexandria-Monroe Tigers

The Oak Hill Golden Eagles will face off against the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Oak Hill fell victim to Mississinewa and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 10-0. The Golden Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Alexandria-Monroe put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Eastbrook a 12-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Brynlee Humphries made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Alexandria-Monroe got a massive performance out of Stella Griffin, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Grace Wood, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Alexandria-Monroe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastbrook only posted an OBP of .167.

Oak Hill's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Alexandria-Monroe, their victory bumped their record up to 15-0.
