Athens Academy and Greater Atlanta Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Athens Academy had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 49-14 loss at the hands of Greater Atlanta Christian. Athens Academy's defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Although Athens Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Zay Prince and Keyon Standifer.

Michael Miller had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 115 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 168 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes for Greater Atlanta Christian. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-high in passer rating (149.4). Pierce Wilson was another key player, gaining 151 total yards and a touchdown.

Athens Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Athens Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they will challenge Hebron Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven matchups.
