Baseball Recap: Kennedy Memorial Comes Up Short

Kennedy Memorial lost against Middletown North back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grant Lorentzen was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kennedy Memorial is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise. Lorentzen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lorentzen wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Michael Rosales, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Kennedy Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Middletown North, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Kennedy Memorial will host Princeton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Middletown North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
