The Stansbury Stallions are taking a road trip to square off against the Murray Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Stansbury got the win against Park City by a conclusive 22-4.

Tessa Baker was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaiya Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Stansbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are 5-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Murray had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Miners a 12-0 shutout.
Savana Whitlock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Whitlock was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zaylee Winterhalder, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Jaidyn Gansauge was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple.
Murray now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Stansbury, they now also have a winning record of 6-5.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Stansbury has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .494. However, it's not like Murray struggles in that department as they've averaged .569. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Stansbury's way against Murray when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Stansbury made off with a 17-1 victory. Do the Stallions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
