Starkville Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Lamar Raiders by a score of 28-20. For the Volunteers, this counts as revenge for the 27-7 victory the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Brown also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss). Sullivan Reed helped out on the ground, rushing for 102 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Starkville Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Lamar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
