Basketball Recap: Brooklyn Richey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ben Lomond over Rockwell

Ben Lomond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rockwell Marshals. The Scots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Marshals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Several Scots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooklyn Richey, who posted four points. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Gonzalez, who earned eight points and 16 boards.

Ben Lomond's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Rockwell, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Ben Lomond will host Box Elder at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rockwell, they will head out to square off against Freedom Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
