Basketball Recap: Melbourne Takes Down Paris in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Melbourne had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past the Paris Eagles with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 67-49. Given the Bearkatz's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Eagles are ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Melbourne is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Paris and nudges their season record down to 16-12.

Melbourne has already played their next contest (against Dover), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Paris does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
