Softball Recap: Pahrump Valley Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Pahrump Valley was riding high fresh off their 16-0 takedown of Canyon Springs last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans fell just short of the Sports Leadership & Management Bulls by a score of 11-10 on Friday. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulls earlier this season, when they won 10-9.

Evalenne Armendariz put in work no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Armendariz was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Riley Saldana made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Madison Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Pahrump Valley's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pahrump Valley will venture away from home to face off against Needles at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will head out on the road to challenge Canyon Springs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
