Basketball Recap: Rowlett Comes Up Short

Rowlett suffered their closest defeat since November 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Sachse Mustangs by a score of 53-51. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Rowlett still got an impressive performance from Justin Adkison, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc to rack up 18 points. Adkison continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Cadarian Urune was another key player, putting up eight points.

Sachse's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Hudgins, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 21 points. Hudgins is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Young, who posted 11 points along with five assists and four steals.

Rowlett's defeat dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Sachse, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-14 record this season.
