It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gridley had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 26-10 victory over the University Prep Panthers. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on five straight.

Gus Stogsdill was his usual excellent self, rushing for 237 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 71 yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 175 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Luis Murillo, who rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.

Gridley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Stogsdill and Eli Punzo.

Gridley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 254 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Gridley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.7 points per game. As for University Prep, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.

Gridley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-6 defeat against Lassen on the 22nd. University Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
