Irvington is 0-4 against Hayward since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Vikings will head out to face off against the Farmers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Irvington will bounce into Friday's game after beating Kennedy, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. The Vikings claimed a resounding 33-0 victory over the Titans. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their eight-point performance the matchup before.
Irvington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabrial Aruwah, who picked up 97 receiving yards and two TDs. Aruwah also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions. Another passer making a difference was Vivaan Tiwari, who threw for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine passes.
Irvington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Irvington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aruwah and Ethan Insixiengmay. Insixiengmay got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hayward). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Washington 67-22. The victory was familiar territory for the Farmers, who have now won five contests in a row.
Hayward's win came from a few key players Irvington will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maurice Hall, who rushed for 140 yards and two scores on only ten carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102.9 rushing yards per game. Jaydyn Irving was another key player, throwing for 192 yards and four TDs on only seven passes.
Irvington's record now sits at 7-3. As for Hayward, their record is now an identical 7-3.
Irvington was taken down by Hayward 53-8 when the teams last played two weeks ago. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Vikings were down 28-8.
