The Burlington School waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 48-40 victory over the Crossroads Christian Colts. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.

It was another big night for Alaiyah Mitchell, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Lawryn Harris was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and four steals.

Several Colts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elyssa Phillips, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 16 points and five boards. Phillips has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Leanna Wimsatt, who posted 13 points and four steals.

The Burlington School has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Crossroads Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.

The Burlington School has already played their next contest, an 80-16 win against Carolina Friends on the 28th. As for Crossroads Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Bradford Academy on the 28th.
