The First Baptist School Hurricanes will venture away from home to square off against Palmetto Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist School has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 4.
On Monday, First Baptist School didn't have quite enough to beat Charleston Collegiate and fell 3-2. While the Hurricanes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Sundevils 25-16 in the first set.
First Baptist School wouldn't go down easily and took Charleston Collegiate into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-13, 15-7.
Meanwhile, Palmetto Christian Academy entered their matchup against Porter-Gaud on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Palmetto Christian Academy fell 3-1 to Porter-Gaud. Surprisingly, this marked Palmetto Christian Academy's third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Porter-Gaud scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 25-19, 25-19.
Palmetto Christian Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 18-8-2. As for First Baptist School, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.
First Baptist School might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Palmetto Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Hurricanes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
