Softball Game Preview: Brookfield Bobcats vs. St. Joseph Cadets

The Brookfield Bobcats will face off against the St. Joseph Cadets on Friday. Brookfield will be looking to extend their current 17-game winning streak.

Brookfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Ledyard a 4-0 shutout.

Sydney Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Miller wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Sinapi, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Lyman Hall 16-15.

St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Brookfield, their victory bumped their record up to 24-1.

Brookfield came up short against St. Joseph when the teams last played back in June of 2025, falling 4-0. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
